"How Will Mine Look?"
Patients have come to consultation concerned about how an example on the web site looked. "I don't want mine to look like that?" Specifically, they worried that the first case still looked large. Take into account, her lips were quite large at the beginning. Showing another flap case may help underscore the point that different women look differently before we start as well as afterward.
What's the Difference?
The flap techniques usually result in more natural-looking outcomes. Simple excisions tend to leave the vaginal opening looking a bit too apparent. The modified excisions are a reasonable compromise here in the right patient.
Below we have another example of a "flap technique" patient. You see her immediately before and after the operation. Many of my patients for these procedures are coming from "Out of town." Getting pictures months out is becoming difficult, as when there is nothing wrong, patients are naturally adverse toward travelling again for an office visit. Even just following surgery however, her improvement is clearly evident.
Small Labiaplasty Via Flap Technique
| This young lady presented with lips that she felt were visible through clothing. She wanted them smaller but looking "natural." They were of moderate size. Her procedure was small enough to perform in the office under primarily local anesthesia. | ![]() LABIAPLASTY BEFORE |

Special Thanks to this young lady for allowing me to share her story and results with you. Patient images are only shared with patient consent. I have other examples to share at consultation as requested. These operations vary as the women that desire them.
